Latest statistics released by the Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) show that global semiconductor sales reached USD 110.5 billion in April 2026, representing a sharp year-on-year increase of 93.9%, nearly doubling in scale. Sales rose by 11% month-on-month from March 2026, marking the 14th consecutive month of month-on-month growth and extending the industry’s recovery cycle.

By region, sales in the Americas surged 115.8% year-on-year, while other Asia-Pacific regions posted a 114.9% year-on-year increase. Sales in China’s domestic market rose by 78.6% year-on-year, with both Europe and Japan also registering positive growth. All regions saw month-on-month sales gains, driven by rising demand for AI computing infrastructure and graphics accelerator-based computing platforms.

SIA forecasts that spurred by demand across the AI industrial chain, the total size of the global semiconductor market is expected to exceed USD 1.5 trillion in 2026, hitting this key industry milestone earlier than previously anticipated.
